Thursday Update
McKingo was a success! A big THANK YOU to our Committee Chairs: Colleen Knoble, Brenda Corey and Tracy Deromedi. They did a wonderful job. The Box Top winners, Ms. Fullen's class and Ms. Crumbock's class, will have their water ice parties today as a thank you from the PTO!
McKinley Garden Opening Day
With enough volunteers, and good weather, the garden will be re-opening for the students during recess today, March 28th and every subsequent school Thursday. Garden volunteers are always needed; if you or someone you know has a volunteer badge, please join us anytime from 11 am - 1 pm on Thursdays. No gardening experience necessary. The garden is also looking for current-family committee members to assist with various administrative tasks. Again, no gardening experience necessary, just a willingness to keep it running for our students, staff and community to enjoy. Please contact Meghan at mzamborsky@gmail.com for more information.
Iron Hill 6th Grade Fundraising Event

Odyssey of the Mind Presentation
There will be a half -hour presentation prior to the April PTO meeting on April 4 from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be an OM board member presenting information to interested parents and potential coaches for next year's team (s). OM involves teams of students using creative problem-solving techniques to solve pre-created scenarios in a fun, competitive environment. Students may participate if chosen. Student divisions are determined by grade level: Primary Division is grades 1-2, Division 1 is grades 3-5 and Division 2 is grades 6-8.
Race for Education Fundraiser
Please turn in the "Way to Participate" Forms that were sent home. You can go online to the Get Movin' Crew website at https://www.getmovinfundraising.com/ to enroll your child today and let the donations begin! There is still time to ask for mailers - in the next couple of weeks, students will be filling them out in school. We havfe more prizes from local professional sports teams to give out to individual students and classes that raise the most money. If everyone raises at least $50 we can exceed our goal.
A sign-up genius link will be posted soon for those volunteers who can help give out water and monitor students on the day of the event.
AEF Presents the Harlem Wizards
Tickets are on sale ( https://www.harlemwizards.com/schedule-tickets/ ) for the Harlem Wizards Family Fun Event on March 30, 2019 sponsored bt the Abington Education Foundation. Come out and see the world famous Harlem Wizards basketball team as they take on our Abington staff for two games - one at 2:00 pm and one at 7:00 pm.

PTO Seeking Non-Profit Status
The PTO is interested in attaining 501(c)3 status and we need someone to help us through the application process. Once we obtain non-profit status, we will need an accountant during the next school year to help us file PTO taxes. McKinley Talent Show
Parents: Please encourage those students who signed up to rehearse their acts at home. There are only two weeks before their first stage rehearsal. Service Logs - 2018-19 Log Available
Please encourage you child to complete the service form throughout the year as they are doing community service in school or the community. The updated 2018-19 Service Log is attached below. Please remember Mrs. Hartzell must have them IN HAND by Friday, April 26th, 2019.

We accept payment of dues anytime during the school year. You can pay your dues by check (payable to McKinley Elementary PTO) or cash and send them to school with your child in an envelope marked "PTO DUES". You can pay dues electronically if you have a PayPal account. Visit paypal.me/mckinleypto Please enter your dues amount (PLEASE DO NOT CHECK THE BOX that indicates the payment is for "goods or services") and include PTO Membership Dues in the notes section, along with your child's name, grade, and teacher.
