Thursday Update
We hope everyone enjoys the holiday break! Please read all the reminders below. We have a busy 2 months left of this school year. Race for Education is next week. We need your help keeping the momentum going. Money raised this year is important for next year's budget.
Please note that the Garden Plant Sale is not the same as the upcoming Mother's Day Plant Sale. Plants from the Garden Sale are ordered in advance on the plant sale forms that are due by May 23. The Mother's Day Plant Sale is a one-day, separate event.
Race for Education Fundraiser
We are one week away from race day and we need your help! At this time we are almost half way to goal at a little over $9,000. We need to hit our goal this year so that our students can watch Mrs. Kim and the teachers play Egged-on! So please get signed up and start sharing your links, bring in those sponsors. https://secure.eventsonline.us/reg/getmovincrew/parents We also have one class that is eligible for the Popsicle party for reaching over $1000 in total class donations. Congrats to Mrs. Murphy's class!! Team Greco, Kelly, Holland, McDaniel, West and Livingood are all moving up as well! Keep up the good work!!!

Service Logs - New Due Date!
All service logs are due to Mrs. Hartzell by Tuesday, April 30. The entire front page of the form must be filled out completely and NEATLY to avoid any spelling errors of the names on certificates. There will be no extensions!!
Sixth Grade Events
The 6th Grade Committee would like to thank everyone who helped raise over $1,100 at the Iron Hill and Snap fundraisers. Your support is appreciated and will help cover costs for their remaining events.

The McKinley Garden - Plant Sale
If you'd like to support the garden but can't make it out for a Thursday recess, consider ordering plants for your garden from this year's Garden Plant Sale - see flyer below. Other ways to help are by donating plastic pots (4-inch diameter or larger), or let us know if you are having a tree taken down this spring or summer - we'd appreciate the donation of the wood chips. Mother’s Day Plant Sale - Thursday, May 9

Volunteers are needed throughout the school day to help with the sale. One-hour shifts are available from 9:00am through 4:00pm. Please use the link below to sign-up.

McKinley Welcomes Author Adam Lehrhaupt - Wednesday, May 15
The McKinley Library is excited to welcome author Adam Lehrhaupt on Wednesday, May 15th! Mr. Lehrhaupt will be speaking with students in grades K-3. In connection with this exciting event, McKinley families are invited to purchase one or more of Mr. Lehrhaupt’s books to be signed during his visit! Please note that only books purchased through McKinley can be autographed, and that a portion of the proceeds benefit our school library. All orders are due to Ms. Strohecker in the library by Friday, April 26th; please contact her with any questions at LaurenStrohecker@abington.pa.us.
McKinley Talent Show
Sign-up Genius emails will be sent out soon. Please volunteer for talent show rehearsals for the following: Sign in, crowd control, or dismissal on April 15, 16, 29 and 30. MUSIC FOR ALL ACTS WAS DUE APRIL 1st - please email Marissa.Capizzi@gmail with music in mp3 format if you still need to turn it in. If your child is not using the beginning of the song, please send a cut version of the song.
Please inform all participants in the Talent Show that NO electronic devices are permitted during rehearsals. Children can ONLY use phones to call parents after rehearsal has ended. This includes Ipods and headphones. Devices must be stored in backpacks off stage. Please pack an extra snack for your child on rehearsal days. Please ensure you know which dates your child has signed up for to rehearse at McKinley. All acts must rehearse 2 out of the 4 days at McKinley. Thank you - Marissa Capizzi, Director, 2019 McKinley
Spring Fair - Beverage Donations & Volunteers Needed
We need your help! If you can, please consider donating canned sodas, water bottles and Capri Sun Juices or similar. Please drop off bevearges in the school lobby near the PTO mailbox and put a note on the items indicating "FOR SPRING FAIR" by May 3. We appreciate all your help - anything not sold at Fair will be given to 6th Grade Committee for the Graduation reception.
Please use the attached link to signup for a 45 minute shift at the Spring Fair on May 17. The earliest shifts start at 3:45pm and the Fair ends at 7:30pm:
Field Day Volunteers
McKinley needs field day helpers to help give out water and hand out popsicles at Field Day on May 17. All volunteers must have district clearances. If you are interested in helping, please sign up by clicking on the link below.
